Why the Boston Public Library is one of Boston’s most beautiful venues
Opened in 1895, the McKim Building was designed as a “palace for the people,” and it still feels like one. For a wedding or engagement session it does something most venues can’t: it gives every frame a sense of scale, history and quiet drama without a single prop. The architecture carries the image, so the couple can simply be themselves inside it.
It also sits at the centre of everything. Copley Square, the Public Garden, Newbury Street and the Back Bay brownstones are all within a short walk, which means one location can deliver grand interiors and classic Boston streetscapes in the same session.
