Stevens Estate at Osgood Hill is one of the most distinctive wedding venues on Boston’s North Shore. An 1886 brick mansion on 143 acres in North Andover, just outside the town of Andover, with a peak tent on the cobblestone terrace, a ceremony lawn at the back of the property, and the kind of Aesthetic Movement interior detail you don’t find in newer venues. If you’re getting married at the Stevens Estate, you want a photographer who knows the property, the light, and the rhythm of a Stevens Estate wedding day. That’s what this page is for.
Below is Jacqueline and Adam’s wedding at the Stevens Estate this past weekend. It’s the kind of wedding I love photographing. A great couple, beautiful florals, a venue that does the heavy lifting, and a vendor team who knew exactly what they were doing.

The day started inside the mansion’s bridal suite, where the light coming through the historic windows is one of the best looking soft sources I’ve worked with at any North Shore venue. Hair by East West Salon Co. out of Easton. Florals by Always in Bloom Flower Walls. The ceremony was outdoors with the brick facade as backdrop. After portraits across the grounds we moved to the white peak tent on the cobblestone terrace for reception, with Anasounds running the night.
ABOUT THE STEVENS ESTATE AT OSGOOD HILL
Built in 1886 for textile industrialist Moses Stevens, the Stevens Estate at Osgood Hill is a Late Aesthetic Movement brick mansion set on 143 acres in North Andover. It’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The interior was crafted in the same era as the Newport mansions, with oak paneling, marble fireplaces, and intricate architectural detail throughout the first floor.
The grounds back into Mass Audubon and town conservation land. From the ceremony lawn you can see open field rolling toward the woods at the edge of the property. The white peak tent sits on a cobblestone terrace adjacent to the mansion, with chandeliers and bistro lights for evening receptions. The estate is owned by the Town of North Andover and managed for weddings by Fireside Catering.

WHY THE STEVENS ESTATE IS A PHOTOGRAPHER’S VENUE
Most North Shore historic venues give you one good portrait location. The Stevens Estate gives you eight. The brick facade. The front portico. The interior staircase. The library room. The cobblestone terrace at golden hour. The lawn looking back at the mansion. The garden path. The tree line at the woodland edge. If we have time built into the timeline, your portrait set is going to look like a tour through a great house.
The light cooperates. Morning getting ready inside the bridal suite gets long windows of soft natural light through the original 1880s window glass. Late afternoon ceremony light falls warm across the lawn. Sunset shoulder time gives the most flattering portrait window of the day, right when guests are at cocktail hour and we can pull you both away for fifteen minutes. None of this happens by accident if your photographer hasn’t shot the venue before.
A STEVENS ESTATE WEDDING DAY
Most Stevens Estate weddings run a similar arc. Hair and makeup wraps in the mansion’s bridal suite around midday. The first look usually happens on the cobblestone terrace or the lawn. Ceremony at four or five in the afternoon. Cocktails on the lawn or the front portico. Reception under the tent at dusk. Toasts and first dance happen as the sun is setting through the trees, which is one of the most photogenic moments of any wedding I shoot.

What is the wedding capacity at the Stevens Estate?
The peak tent on the cobblestone terrace seats up to 250 guests from May through October. The mansion interior accommodates up to 100 guests for off season weddings October through April. Ceremony happens outdoors on the lawn when weather allows, with the mansion’s brick facade as a backdrop.
Do you photograph weddings at other North Shore venues?

Saturdays in peak season at the Stevens Estate book twelve to eighteen months out. If you’re targeting a specific date, the sooner you reach out the better. For off season and weeknight weddings I can sometimes accommodate three to six months ahead, depending on the schedule.
Will you travel for engagement sessions if we are getting married at the Stevens Estate?
Yes. Engagement sessions are included in most of my full day collections and can happen at the Stevens Estate grounds, in Boston, on Cape Cod, or anywhere meaningful to you. Many couples choose Boston or a coastal location for the engagement set and save the Stevens Estate scenery for the wedding day.
What does your editorial style look like for a Stevens Estate wedding?
Editorial means we lean into the mood of the property. At the Stevens Estate that means using the brick facade and historic interior the way a magazine would. Long lens portraits in the conservatory. Bride at the top of the staircase. Detail work on the marble fireplace. Wide overhead shots of the tent at dusk. I shoot the photojournalism of the day and the editorial moments together rather than choosing one over the other.
